My Thoughts on Solo Ads

I’ve been looking more closely at solo ads recently.

The basic idea is pretty simple.

Someone else has built an email list.

You pay them to send an email about your offer to that list.

You get the clicks without having to spend months building your own audience.

And, to be honest, that’s what interests me.

I don’t have unlimited time to spend creating content every day, building an audience and constantly promoting on social media.

I’d rather test whether I can buy targeted traffic and let the numbers tell me what works.

But there’s an obvious problem.

A click isn’t a sale.

Someone can click your link, look around for 10 seconds and disappear.

So I don’t think the important question is simply:

“How many clicks can I buy?”

It’s:

“What happens after I get the click?”

You need the right audience.

You need something relevant to offer them.

And you need a simple path from the advert to the offer.

That’s why I’m interested in testing solo ads with people who are already interested in making money online, affiliate marketing and generating traffic.

They already understand what they’re looking at.

They’re not being interrupted while watching a video or scrolling through social media.

They’re actively reading emails about online business.

I’m going to test it rather than assume it works.

Buy some traffic.

Track the clicks.

Track the leads.

See what happens afterwards.

Then decide whether it’s worth scaling.

That’s really the attraction of paid traffic for me.

I don’t need to guess whether something might work. I can put some numbers behind the idea and find out.
