Training matters.

The network marketing model is a simple one but it requires skills that need to be learned.

You need to work (netWORK) and you need to market (MARKETing) and you need to do these two things correctly in order to build a successful network marketing business.

Submit yourself for training. Attend all training. Encourage every one of your team members to attend training.

Training does not start nor does training ever end. Training must be ongoing throughout your network marketing career.

Training must always cover 3 things:

  • Company Product knowledge training
  • Company Opportunity knowledge training
  • How to Market / How to promote knowledge training

Company Product Knowledge training

You need to be trained on what the range of products are in your network marketing business.

This is for two obvious reasons:

ONE. So that you can understand what the products are, how they work, as well as how and when to use them. With this knowledge, you can answer your own product questions as well as the questions of your prospective customers.

Ugo’s top tip: If your product knowledge is not thorough or you don’t know the answer to any question that you have been asked, simply say “I don’t know the answer to your question but I will find out and I will let you know”… and do it.

 

TWO. During conversation, (because you are an active distributor who has been mentored by me), you know to LISTEN carefully when people speak to you. You listen carefully because at some point they will inevitably describe a pain or problem that they are experiencing in their life.

If you have good product knowledge, you will quickly and easily see where your company product can help solve their problem or issue. This is how you acquire buying customers and active distributors

Business Opportunity knowledge training

You need to be trained in your network marketing business opportunity so that you understand the business side of things clearly. You need to know what industry you are in, you need how much can be earned and you need to know what distributors need to do in order to earn that money.

This is for your own understanding of your own business. It is also useful information that you will rely on when giving a quick presentation or qualifying prospects before sending them further information.

But Ugo… “How much detail do I need to learn and memorise?”

Not a lot. For example, you do not need to memorise your compensation plan to the Nth level in extreme detail. You can always refer to the compensation plan document at anytime if you need to look something up. Likewise your prospect can always attend training if they need more detail about anything.

How to Market / How to promote knowledge training

In order to build a successful network marketing business, you need to do these three marketing things:

  1. Ask questions,
  2. Listen carefully and third
  3. Offer your product / service / business opportunity.

You need to do these three things correctly. It is important to attend training that is specifically aimed at teaching distributors how to market correctly. Marketing with enthusiasm is great. Marketing with the right skills plus enthusiasm yields great results.

How To Position Yourself As A Leader Or Expert In Your Network Marketing Business

When people see your Ad on a website or your post on Facebook, remember that these people do not know you. So they will JUDGE you. You may even be judged by people that already know you.

They judge you based on what they see in your Ad or in your post and based on that judgment, they will decide whether to buy your product, join your business or simple move on without you.

So how can you help them arrive at the correct judgement that will help you, help your product sales and help your network marketing business growth?

It all lies in what you say when you promote yourself.

It all lies in what you say when you promote your product.

It all lies in what you say when you promote your business opportunity.

It all lies in what you say when you promote yourself.

Here is an example of what say when you promote yourself. Look at your Facebook profile. Let’s say for example that you own a network marketing health and nutrition business.

Does your self-description in your Facebook profile say: “I own a health and nutrition business” or does it say: “I help people who are struggling to lose weight see results in 60 to 90 days”.

The first one states that you own a health and wellness business. Well, so what? No one cares because lots of people own a health and wellness business. It’s no big deal.

The second example describes the specific problem that your prospect is facing. (This will catch their attention. It’s like you know them already.) And then it states that you have the solution. As a result, they WANT to call you ASAP to find out what this solution is.

Focus on THE PROBLEM first. Then let them know that you have THE SOLUTION they need. You are SEEN as THE EXPERT who has the solution.

 

Ugo’s Top Tip: Be seen as the expert helper with the solution everybody wants.

If you are posting on Facebook use words like “I help…”

It all lies in what you say when you promote your product.

When you promote your product start with the problem your product solves. Then say I have the solution.

Then invite them to contact you or to buy the product or to click the link or to take whatever action you want them to take.

Here is an example. Let’s say you are in the health and nutrition network marketing business. And your product is a weight loss product.

Never say “Hey. I’ve got the greatest product to help you lose weight.” Start with the problem.

“Struggling to lose any weight whatsoever? Product X has helped hundreds of busy mums and dads see results in as little as 8 to 10 weeks”.

Start with the the specific problem.

It all lies in what you say when you promote your business opportunity.

Don’t promote your business opportunity directly.

Put yourself in your prospects shoes. WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM HERE? Might they be short of money? Short of time?  Bored with their career?

  1. State the specific problem they are having. (No money, no time, boredom)
  2. Then state that you have the solution. (Your network marketing opportunity)
  3. Then invite them to call you or to click your link or to send you a direct message or whatever call to action you want.

Problem. Solution. Call to action.

Whether you are posting ads, doing Facebook Lives, YouTube videos, messaging people…whatever. Always remember: Problem. Solution. Call to action.

So you have generated your leads and you have them all lined up ready and waiting.

Lets get the ball rolling turning these leads into buying customers and active distributors:

Your leads are likely to be in any one of the following possible places:

They are going to be people in your contacts list where you are contacting the by email or they are going to be people in you Facebook Messenger App or in your WhatsApp or numbers in your phone who you can send texts or call, etc

Wherever your leads are located , you are going to need to contact them regularly in order to build a relationship with them. Don’t panic. Building a relationship is simply done!

Building a relationship is important for 2 reasons:

  1. It allows you time to see where their pain lies and to see if you have something you can offer them.
  2. It allows your lead / prospect time to get to know you, to get to like you and to get to trust you. Once they know, like and trust you, they will say yes to seeing your product or opportunity info.

Here are 2 simple ways to build the relationship:

  1. Ask questions in your messaging.
  2. Send helpful hints and valuable knowledge in your messaging.

How to Ask questions in your messaging.

Simply ask the usual questions that you have always asked people

  • How are you?
  • How is your family?
  • How is your day / week going?
  • What do you do for a living?
  • What do you like most about it?
  • What do you struggle with the most in your job?

Learn to Listen to People

As people reply to you, LISTEN for areas of pain that they may be experiencing in their life and offer a possible solution.

Your network marketing business has products that solves people’s problems. Your job is to see if they have a problem that you can solve with your product. If they don’t seem to have any relevant problem, ASK directly just to make sure and then decide whether or not to MOVE ON to your next lead / prospect or offer them your product instead.

For example, if you are in a Health and Nutrition network marketing opportunity and they mention they have a weight problem, try this PRODUCT script:

Hi {insert their name here}, I see that you are trying to control your weight right now. My company has a great product that many people have found to be really helpful with their weight control. I was thinking of you… are you open to taking a look at the product?

Always follow up and close

After sending them any information, always follow up and close.

If while LISTENING to them you notice that they have job / money / finance worries, remember that your network marketing opportunity has a business opportunity that could be a solution for them.

Try this BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY script:

Hi {insert their name here} I see that you mention how expensive everything is these days, that’s so true. I’m involved in a great opportunity that allows me to earn an additional income without affecting what I am already doing and we are changing peoples lives everyday. Are you open to looking a look at some information to see what I am doing?

After sending them any information, always follow up and close.

If you are using email marketing, you are likely using a marketing platform to send a series of emails automatically to your leads. These emails should be full of value and each email should have a CALL TO ACTION (CTA).

The emails that you send to your leads over a period of time will enable you to form a relationship with your leads. Your leads will get to know you, like you and trust you. Your CTA invites them to look at your product or opportunity and this leads to a sale or signup.

So here are the steps To Convert Your Network Marketing Leads into Buying Customers and Active Distributors

  1. Go for Know, Like and Trust through regular messaging with specific questions or by sending emails with valuable information. Reply to messages. Reply to emails. Build rapport.
  2. LISTEN for a PAIN or ISSUE that can be solved with your product or opportunity.
  3. Offer to show your product or opportunity in order to help them solve their problem.
  4. Follow up and Close.
