How To Write Effective Adverts For Your Network Marketing Business
Ugo’s Top Tip number one: Do what I do, Simplify things. Because it always works.
Ugo’s Top Tip number two: Tell a story. Because it always works.
Have you ever noticed how some ads can last only 10 or fifteen or twenty seconds and you find yourself thinking “Yeah, I need that. How do I pay for it?” And that’s only after a 15 second Ad.
The reason is simple. The Ad only tells you only what you need to know. A good Ad tells you:
- What the problem is.
- How the product solves the problem.
- Your next step (place order).
This is the formula. It’s that simple.
Number 3 is referred to as a ‘Call To Action’ or CTA.
The principle is exactly the same whether you are advertising online or offline.
Let’s look at the formula again:
- HEADLINE: What the problem is.
- BODY: What my product does
- CALL TO ACTION: ‘Click here’ or ‘Call this number’ or ‘Buy now’ or ‘Learn more’ …. you get the picture.
Of course there are other things you can do to make your Ad even more effective. For instance, target your audience. Targeting your audience means when setting up your Ad, choose what type of person you want to see your Ad. Depending on the advertiser, you can choose factors such as their age, gender, income, location, car they drive etc.
Facebook is BRILLIANT at targeting your Ad for you. The point of targeting is that you want the right Ad to appear in front of the right person. But I digress. Let’s stick to the current topic which is How To Write Effective Adverts For Your Network Marketing Business.
I talk in more detail specifically about Facebook Advertising For Your Network Marketing Opportunity in this post.
Back to How To Write Effective Adverts For Your Network Marketing Business.
Start by asking yourself:
“Am I advertising my product or am I advertising my Network Marketing Business Opportunity?”
If the Ad is for your product, then here’s a product Ad example:
“Struggling To Lose Weight? So was I until I tried this Super Simple Shake that I use to replace 2 meals a day. Now I’m much happier and the weight is coming off! Click here to visit my website and order yours today.”
If you place an Ad like this either manually on free advertising websites or if you pay to advertise with your advertising budget, you will have people clicking on your Ad in order to visit your website to learn more and hopefully place an order or two.
Realistically, however, you need to TEST, TEST,TEST your advertising. If you are not getting expected results, then change the wording, change where you are advertising and make sure you are targeting the right sort of people.
If you are paying to advertise your network marketing business, always start on a small scale with a small budget in order to test the waters. If you start to see clicks coming through or even a few sales, this might be your signal to scale up and increase your network marketing advertising budget.
Generally people find Ads intrusive and they will try to ignore or avoid them (sorry, it comes with the territory). All this means is that you may have to be more creative than you expected, and you may have to advertise for longer than you expected and your budget may need to be larger than expected.
So far so good?
Good.
Now let’s look at a Business Opportunity Ad.
Again, only tell them what they need to know right now. Any other information can be learned later, if they are interested.
When it comes to Business Opportunities, people only want to know 3 things:
- What sort of Business is it?
- How much money can I earn?
- What do I have to do to earn that money.
That’s it. Its that simple.
Here is an example opportunity ad.
Start your own Health and Nutrition Home Business. Work online and Earn $300 to $500 monthly by using and recommending our products. Full training provided. Click here to learn more.
Again here you can see all three details provided. In this Ad I have explained what type of business it is, how much can be earned and what needs to be done to earn the money.
In reality however, you will need to place Ads according to the guidelines placed on you by the platform you are advertising on. By this I mean that sometimes you are not allowed to state amounts of money that you can earn in the Ad. Some platforms do not allow certain CTAs such as ‘click here’. Some will not allow you to use the word ‘best’ eg ‘best business’ or ‘best product’ etc
So now we move on to telling stories.
Facebook is a good example of very strict guidelines to keep you in check when it comes to placing ads or boosting posts on Facebook.
What I have noticed works for me is telling stories on my Facebook page and then boosting these.
For example, I write posts about how I used to struggle with long hours, poor income, taking on second and third part-time jobs, being extremely exhausted and then using network marketing as a way out. As a solution to my problems.
Posts like these can be boosted with little risk of rejection from Facebook because these posts are not blatant Ads. Furthermore, remember that your target audience are people who have been through tough times. They can relate to what you are saying and they can see how you found a solution. They want to hear your story.
If you want me to expand in more detail on anything you see in this post then say so in the comments. Questions? Please ask in the comments. Check out my top recommended network marketing opportunity.
